Inter.link Launches Major Network Extension Reaching 300+ New Data Centers Across Europe.

Berlin, March 3, 2024 - Inter.link, the sustainable Network as a Service (NaaS) provider, announced a significant network extension today, making its leading carrier Ethernet, security, and IP Transit services available from over 300 new data centers across Europe.

The extension will bring modern, cloud-like network services, including high-performance IP Transit, Direct Internet Access (DIA), Flex Ethernet, and robust DDoS protection to thousands of businesses hosting their IT infrastructure in smaller or regional data centers.

Many of these colocation data centers offer limited interconnection options from legacy telcos and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) that lack automation and operate with slow, bureaucratic processes.

“Since the launch of our NaaS platform, it’s been a delight to see customers responding so positively to our cloud-like service model and carefully engineered network,” said Theo Voss, CEO of Inter.link. “So we’re excited to enable more businesses to take advantage of our offerings across hundreds of new locations.”

High-quality connectivity in more locations

The Inter.link network extension will reach locations across seventeen countries, including Austria, Belgium, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. Inter.link supports a range of port speeds across its network—1 Gbps, 10Gbps, 40Gbps, 100Gbps, and 400Gbps.

A highly ranked Internet backbone network delivers inter.link services. Inter.link’s ASN (Autonomous System Number) 5405 consistently ranks in the top 100 ASNs in the world, above many well-known incumbent telcos and multi-national ISPs.

As a leading Internet transit provider, Inter.link delivers optimized IP routing and low-latency Internet traffic delivery across Europe by openly peering with smaller and regional networks and using its backbone to ensure quality traffic delivery.

Cloud Service and Modern NetOps Model

Inter.link makes getting Ethernet, Internet access (without BGP), and Internet transit service an easy, software-as-a-service experience. Customers can take advantage of self-service functionality in the Inter.link portal to:

  • Explore locations
  • Configure ports and committed bandwidth from 100 Mbps
  • Select IPv4 and IPv6 IP address blocks
  • View transparent Ethernet, and IP transit pricing offered monthly to multi-yearly, including 95/5 percentile or flat rate options
  • Order and provision in minutes
  • Manage services and gain reporting visibility

Unlike traditional telcos and legacy tier 1 global Internet providers that stick with slow, bureaucratic service models, Inter.link puts customers in control with a speedy, modern NetOps approach. Automation powered by Inter.link’s open APIs replaces manual operations. Direct access via Slack to in-region expert resources replaces cumbersome, tiered offshore support processes.

Flexible, Multi-Service Options

Inter.link goes beyond typical IP transit providers by offering seamless multi-service connectivity from every port. Customers can combine private Inter-data center Ethernet links with Internet connectivity and integrated DDoS protection.

Inter.link offers Flex Ethernet, the industry’s most flexible Carrier Ethernet service. Customers can use Flex Ethernet for P2P connections instead of E-LINE/EPL/EVPL or wavelength services. When customers need to add sites, they can add them to their Flex Ethernet service instead of creating complex meshes of EVPLs or switching to unscalable ELANs. Flex Ethernet delivers guaranteed per-site bandwidth and built-in path redundancy between all sites, whether point-to-point or multi-point.

Inter.link also offers integrated DDoS protection for all DIA and IP Transit connections. Since Inter.link’s DDoS service is resident within the Inter.link backbone network, turning on advanced protection is easy, and clean traffic delivery has low latency, unlike typical DDOS defense services that utilize bandwidth-constrained GRE tunnels to return clean traffic to customer routers.
