A Day in the Life of Inter.link’s Chief of Staff

As a Pan-European NaaS (Network as a Service) provider, Inter.link is a remote company comprised of staff based in multiple countries. Due to teams being spread out, it is important to meet up in person to review achievements, align goals, and maintain bonds.
Along with team-specific offsites, Inter.link organises company offsites when all staff members spend a few days together. 2024’s company offsite took place last week. This article explores what happened and what made this offsite special.
Flexibility is not only built into Inter.link’s NaaS solutions, the network, and the way services are delivered to customers. It’s also a foundational part of the way we work.
Remote working enables our staff to use their skills in a way and in a location that best suits them, however, meeting up in person is invaluable, enabling our teams to resync on our vision and mission:
Vision:
"Become the gold standard for secure, flexible, sustainable connectivity."
Mission:
"We provide sustainable connectivity of the highest quality, through automation and innovation."
The whole company getting together in person also enables teams to plan how to deliver more innovative and high-quality services to our customers. The connection, communication, and mutual understanding we can gain from being together turns into better progress to fulfill our goals and delight our customers.
Environmental sustainability is part of Inter.link’s DNA and making sustainable business decisions has been a priority from the beginning.
Inter.link is a Certified B Corporation, already carbon neutral, having achieved the PAS 2060 certification, and is working toward reaching net zero emissions.
This made it very important to select a sustainable location for our 2024 offsite. Our business operations team put a great deal of effort into finding the place which aligns best with Inter.link’s priorities and this led them to Riessersee Hotel in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavaria, Germany.
The Riessersee Hotel is committed to environmental and climate protection. Since July 2022, they have planted 8260 trees - one tree for every skipped room cleaning. Their guests therefore reduce their carbon footprint and do something good for the environment at no extra cost.
And this is only a small part of what makes the Riessersee climate neutral. They are also working to become plastic-free; they have multiple methods for saving resources; and have an optimized supply chain.
One of Inter.link’s major projects in recent months has been a complete refresh of its company values. Our people and culture team evaluated the long list of values which were put together at the company’s inception, then they arranged calls with staff to discuss what is important to them about Inter.link
The people and culture team took their findings from the calls and put together new company values which represent who we are, highlight what is important to us, and would help to guide our actions and decisions.
These values are listed below and were presented at the company offsite along with a team exercise to make sure the values resonated across the company.

The offsite agenda was packed, managing to fit multiple activities within under three days, both to strengthen team bonds and increase performance across the company.
Along with the whole company getting to know each other better, teams gained a better understanding of their contributions to Inter.link’s success.
Below is just part of the agenda during the offsite:
Remote work is a key part of Inter.link’s innovative mentality, however these company offsites are vitally important, not only for enhancing Inter.link’s success, but also for strengthening the connections between the people that make this company so great.
