How does Inter.link Automated Provisioning Work?

Inter.link uses automation to make ordering and provisioning network services faster and simpler. Through the inter.link portal, customers can configure services based on their requirements, including factors such as location, capacity and other service specific parameters. Once the required information has been provided, supported services can be processed and provisioned automatically, reducing the need for manual coordination.

What does automated provisioning mean?

Automated provisioning reduces the manual steps traditionally required to set up and manage network services. The inter.link platform uses the information provided during the ordering process to automate parts of service configuration and delivery. Integrations with external sources can also help simplify this process. For example, the inter.link portal integrates with PeeringDB and can automatically retrieve relevant network information using a customers AS Number.

How quickly can Inter.link services be provisioned?

Provisioning times depend on the service and its requirements. Services that can be delivered through existing connectivity and software-defined infrastructure can be provisioned quickly. For example, FlexTunnel can be set up within minutes once the required network information has been verified.

Services requiring new physical infrastructure, third party connectivity or additional coordination may have longer delivery times.

Can I provision services through the Inter.link portal?

Yes. The inter.link portal allows customers to configure and order supported services directly. Customers can build a solution based on their requirements and once provisioned, view the service and its current status within the portal.

Can automated provisioning be integrated into my own workflows?

Yes, inter.link follows an API first approach, allowing supported platform functionality to be accessed programmatically as well as through the portal.
