Infrastructure as Code: Introducing the Inter.link Terraform Provider

Sep 15, 2026

Terraform creates a simpler way for customers to manage network connectivity.

Cloud infrastructure has been managed as code for years. Why should network connectivity be different?

Inter.link launches its new Terraform Provider, open source and publicly available, creating a simpler, more automated way for customers to manage network connectivity alongside the rest of their cloud and infrastructure environments.

Designed for cloud service providers, ISPs, network operators and enterprise infrastructure teams, the upcoming Inter.link Terraform Provider brings network services into the same Infrastructure-as-Code workflows teams already use to manage their cloud environments, starting with IP Transit. Customers will be able to define, change and remove Inter.link services through Terraform, keep network configurations in version control, and manage connectivity alongside the infrastructure it supports.

The Inter.link Terraform Provider will be distributed through the public Terraform Registry, with signed and verified releases, and the code will be open source under the MPL-2.0 licence. Customers will need Terraform or OpenTofu 1.0 or later, an Inter.link Portal account and an API key.

The provider will offer broad read capabilities across the Inter.link portfolio, including IP Transit, IP Access, Ports, DDoS Protection, Flex Ethernet, FlexPeer, FlexTunnel and PNI Peering, as well as projects, locations and the product catalogue. The initial release will focus on IP Transit provisioning, allowing customers to order IP Transit services through Terraform.

“The first release establishes the foundation for bringing more of the Inter.link platform into Infrastructure as Code,” said Sebastian Pazmay, Tech Lead Product Development at Inter.link. “Customers can already use Terraform to build and manage their cloud environments. We’re making it possible to define their connectivity in that same way, with Cloud Connect being a key future use case.”

The provider will work alongside existing Terraform providers for platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud, enabling customers to define connectivity and the infrastructure it serves within the same configuration. This is particularly valuable for platform and DevOps teams that need repeatable deployments, auditable changes and reduced operational overhead.

The provider is being introduced as a platform capability, with functionality expanding over time in response to customer feedback and the Inter.link product roadmap. Cloud Connect will use the same provider when it launches, further extending Inter.link’s Infrastructure-as-Code capabilities.
