Purchasing and Supplier Management Specialist

Inter.link is a purpose-driven, remote-native company building a fully automated, sustainable global internet network. Backed by multi-million founder funding and a growing international team of approx. 30 people, we are scaling fast and looking for a Purchasing and Supplier Management Specialist to support that journey.

This role is designed for someone who excels at supplier management and cost optimization, including associated purchasing controlling tasks such as COGS reporting and business case calculations.

You’ll take ownership of supplier relationships, contract (re)negotiations, and cost transparency while collaborating with the finance team and Chief of Staff.

This position is ideal for someone who is analytical, commercially minded, and ready to have real impact in a growing startup.

Your Impact

  • Lead supplier strategy and relationship management across key categories.
    Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms to improve COGS and margin performance.
  • Build and maintain supplier performance tracking (cost, quality, reliability, delivery).
  • Conduct cost analyses and develop initiatives to optimize total cost of ownership.
  • Identify and qualify alternative suppliers to reduce dependency and strengthen resilience.
  • Collaborate with operations and product teams to align procurement with forecasts, inventory, and production needs.
  • Verify supplier invoices for accuracy and compliance with contractual terms and purchase agreements.
  • Strengthen controlling processes, particularly around COGS, margins, and cash flow.
  • Implement scalable procurement processes and governance fit for a fast-growing startup.
  • Drive cross-functional cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or flexibility.
  • Partner with the Chief of Staff and CEO on financial planning, performance analysis, and cost efficiency with a focus of COGS.
  • Contribute to financial modelling, scenario planning and business cases for growth initiatives.
  • Work closely with the finance/accounting colleague to ensure data accuracy and insight generation.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in supplier management, purchasing, as well as finance and controlling.
  • Able to negotiate in English and German with suppliers as part of daily business operations.
  • Proven experience in a startup or scale-up environment.
  • Strong understanding of COGS, supplier economics and margin management.
  • Skilled negotiator with a pragmatic, commercial mindset.
  • Experienced in financial analysis, controlling, and performance reporting.
  • Entrepreneurial, structured and comfortable working hands-on in a lean setup.
  • Strong communication skills, able to engage both suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Excel and familiar with Salesforce.
  • Previous experience in the network industry is a plus.
